Future education will be completely digital: Mustafa Jabbar
Post and Telecommunication Minister Mr. Mustafa Jabbar said that the certificate obtained in the existing education system is useful to meet the challenges of the future technological civilization.
The minister opined so while speaking as the chief guest at the discussion on the role of Bijoy Children’s Education in the development of talent of Bangladesh and Children in Digitization organized by Kabi Nazrul Shishu Diganta, Mymensingh Shishu Kishore Milon Mela at IDEB Auditorium in Dhaka on Friday.
He said that the education of the future will be completely digital. Therefore, the government has started the work of digital transformation of education to develop skilled human resources in the country. Already, a digital education campaign has been started in 650 primary schools and 28 neighborhood centers in the hilly areas to provide opportunities for digital transformation of education among the disadvantaged people in the remote areas of the country.
Jasmine Jui, chief executive of Bijoy Digital presented the role of Child Education through Bijoy Digital Content in the event while Kabi Nazrul Shishu Digant president Advocate Raihana Khatun presided over the meeting. Principal Hamida Ali; former Member of Parliament MA Awal; Engineer Abdul Wahab who is the project director of the project related to spreading digital education among children in underprivileged areas, Chairman of Bangladesh Shishu Mela Society Professor Dr. Shahidullah Ansari, Chairman of International Bangla Sahitya Kabita Parishad; General Secretary of Kabi Nazrul Shishu Diganta Md. In the event, the Minister of Children and Youth, the technologist Mustafa Jabbar, who played a leading role in the development of digital educational materials for children, said, 'You are the biggest force in establishing true Smart Bangladesh. If you do not acquire digital skills, if you do not know how to use digital technology, then we will not be successful in facing the challenge.' The world's biggest library is the Internet. Depriving children of this, it is not possible to get education useful for the future, he said, there can be no better work than digital transformation in education. Since 1987 in the digital transformation of education, we have made software for children's education despite facing many obstacles.
Pointing out the effective contribution of digital content teaching in creating interest among children who do not want to read, he added that children are able to complete their one-year syllabus in 2 months by pretending to play. Highlighting the example of a digital school in Purbadhala of Netrakona district, the minister said that children must be prepared for the future. He said that Bangladesh will be the best country in the world in 2041 if the new generation can be made proficient in using digital devices.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina wanted smart people to build a smart Bangladesh, the Minister of Posts and Telecommunications said to the students, Bangladesh will be smart if you are smart. Living in today's age if you cannot use any digital device then your future is bleak. Traditional education is constantly changing. Using digital technology, your education system will be launched through digital content, leaving paper books behind. The day is not far when every student will go to school, college and university with a laptop instead of a book in their bag. Honorable Prime Minister made this announcement in 2015. The transformation of your family, society and country will depend on you. He said, the country is above all. Nothing can be bigger than the country.
Jasmin Jui, CEO of Bijoy Digital, said in the keynote speech that digital content is one of the main tools for digital transformation of education.
She said, a good content is a good friend of children. Creating quality digital content for quality digital education is a huge challenge in building a developed nation. Over the past thirteen years, Bijoy Digital has been able to overcome those challenges. He presented to the students the details of the Hon'ble Minister's concerted efforts in creating digital content. He termed the students as the key artisans for the establishment of Smart Bangladesh in 2041. He presented part of the digital content conversion of class I to V curriculum through special multimedia. On the occasion, Mr. Wahab said that the implementation of the digital education project was the greatest joy of his life.
